Laser Pigmentation Treatment Procedure Instructions

Please review these guidelines carefully before and after your treatment to ensure safe healing and optimal results.

Before Your Laser Pigmentation Treatment

Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
Discontinue retinoids, exfoliants, and acid-based skincare products 5–7 days before treatment.
Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotions, sunscreen, or oils.
Do not undergo chemical peels, waxing, or other laser treatments in the same area for 2 weeks.
Inform your provider of any medications, skin conditions, or recent procedures.

Important Pre-Treatment Notes

Recent sun exposure increases the risk of hyperpigmentation or burns.
Certain medications may increase skin sensitivity and require rescheduling.

After Your Laser Pigmentation Treatment

Mild redness, warmth, or swelling is normal and usually resolves within 24–48 hours.
Pigmented areas may darken temporarily before gradually flaking off.
Apply soothing creams or post-laser products as recommended.
Avoid heat exposure (hot showers, saunas, workouts) for 24–48 hours.
Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) daily and reapply as needed.

What to Avoid

No direct sun exposure or tanning for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.
Avoid picking, scrubbing, or exfoliating treated areas.
Do not use retinoids, acids, or bleaching agents for 7–10 days.

Results & Treatment Schedule

Results develop gradually as pigmentation fades over several weeks. Multiple sessions may be required depending on the depth and type of pigmentation. Your provider will create a customized treatment plan for optimal outcomes.

When to Contact the Clinic

Please contact us immediately if you experience blistering, excessive swelling, prolonged redness, or signs of infection following your treatment.
